What does the audit cover?
We go through your site page by page and score it in nine areas.
- On-page SEO. What each page's title, description, headings, and links tell Google it's about.
- Technical SEO. Whether Google can reach your pages, and what breaks on a phone.
- Content. Whether your pages say enough, and say something different from each other.
- Local SEO and schema. Your Google Business Profile, your listings, and schema, the hidden labels that tell Google what your business is.
- User experience and design. How easy it is to find your way around.
- Conversion. Your buttons, your forms, and anything that makes you harder to reach.
- Blog and content. What you publish, and whether it leads anywhere.
- Social and brand presence. Your profiles, and how your pages look when someone shares them.
- Reputation and trust. Your reviews, any complaints, and whether outside sources back up what your site says.
If an area doesn't apply to your business, we leave it out instead of marking you down.
What do I hold at the end?
One written document, as a PDF, with three things in it.
- A scored assessment. An overall score and a score for each area, so you can see where the site is strong and where it isn't.
- The findings. Every problem we found, with the evidence behind it, down to the page.
- A ranked fix list. The specific fix for each serious problem, ranked by what it's likely to do for you against the work it takes.
The audit shows you what's holding the site back. We don't promise rankings. We promise the work.
How is this different from the Free Website Review?
The Free Website Review is the short one. It covers what's working and the top faults we find, ranked by impact, and it arrives within 1 business day. It tells you what's wrong, not how to fix it.
The SEO Audit is the long one. You get every finding, the evidence, a score for each area, and the specific fix. That's the work the $1,200 pays for.
How is it different from a free tool or a cheap gig?
A free tool is worth running. It can tell you a page has no title or a link goes nowhere. It can't tell you which warning matters most for your business, because it doesn't know what you sell or who you sell to. Most won't look past your own site at your Google profile, your listings, and your reviews.
A cheap gig can be honest work, or it can be a tool's report with a new logo on it. Before you pay anyone, ask to see what you'd get.
When is doing it myself enough?
Plenty of owners can run a basic audit themselves, and for some sites that's the right call. If you have a small site, you serve one area, and you don't mind an afternoon in Google's free tools, start there. Check that your pages come up when you search for them, that each one says plainly what it's for, and that your Google Business Profile is right.
The full audit starts to make sense when:
- Your site has grown past what an afternoon can cover
- You've run a free tool and you're looking at a long list with no order to it
- You've done the basics and you still aren't showing up
- You're about to spend money on SEO or a rebuild, and you want to know what you'd be paying to fix
Not sure which side you're on? That's what the Free Website Review is for.
How long does it take?
Longer than the free review, because there's far more in it. How much longer depends on how many pages your site has.
What happens after?
The fix list stands on its own. You don't have to buy anything else.
Work through it yourself, hand it to whoever looks after your site, or ask us to quote the work as website fixes. If you'd rather have someone on it every month, we do monthly SEO too.
FAQ
Will an SEO audit get me ranked?
Not by itself. An audit changes nothing on your site. It shows you what to change. And if someone promises you first-page rankings in 30 days, that's a red flag.
Do you change anything on my site during the audit?
No. The audit is a written document. Any work on your site comes after, and only if you ask for it.
Does it matter who built my site?
No. We audit sites whatever they're built on, including WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace.
Why does the audit have a price when the review is free?
The review tells you what's wrong. The audit tells you how to fix it, with the evidence and the order to do it in. That's where the time goes.
Do I have to be in Texas?
No. We're based in Seminole, TX, and we work with small businesses in West Texas and nationwide.
Not sure you need the audit? Start with the free one.
Send us your website address and we'll email you a written review within 1 business day. It's free, and there's no pressure to do anything with it.
